On Windows, also turn off other tablet services built into Windows or your tablet software, such as Pen Flicks (the Pen and Touch applet in the Control Panel) or long-press or press-and-hold or hard-press for right-click (try the Pen and Touch applet in the Control Panel and/or your pen settings control applet, which might be in Control Panel, or in the system tray in the right lower corner, or maybe in the start menu).

Huion has this as a checkbox in the tablet software in the system tray (in Windows). If your tablet software allows it, and if you are using Windows (I don’t know whether Macs have any equivalent), turn off Windows Ink/TabletPC services. Next, try File menu, Environment Setting, and change Brush Coordinate from Use Tablet Coordinate to Use Mouse Coordinate. The software in the box is often out-of-date.

The first thing to try is the latest tablet driver from your tablet manufacturer (and restart your computer after installing it). If it does not work immediately, you might have to add in a couple of troubleshooting tips (applicable to most brands): The tablets listed are the ones that users have reported, but most Huion tablets seem to work OK. I saw other Huion tablets on the list but not this one, will it still work? Either the behaviour has changed or (more likely) my memory is tricking me and I’ve been working with MediBang Paint Pro or I’ve just left the computer running between sessions when I thought it preserved brush sizes. Obtusity reflects: Hmm, doing the same for me.
Just thought I’d mention since I’m not sure how OP is changing the settings! It always resets for me if I just change settings under Brush Control (Windows 64bit here), but changes take if I actually go into Edit Brush. I assumed it was just a problem with FA since Medibang doesn’t do it. I’m running 64-bit and it does the same thing. I’ve only seen this with 32-bit Windows 8, so I’d like to know if you are running anything else - please add it as a comment to this post. Try right-clicking on the FireAlpaca icon and choosing Run As Administrator to start it. This usually indicates FireAlpaca cannot write to the configuration files when you close the program (it saves settings as it closes).
